I have been trying to to figure out how to breed a flock of chickens that produced 100% green eggs. I know you could get a bunch of EE hens and select for green eggers but the roo is where the trouble lies. There would be no way of knowing for sure if the roo carried green egg color without alot of test breeding. If I was to use a blue egg roo (aracauna or ameracauna) on all green egg hens what genetics in future generations would I get from that? Mostly green with the occasional blue? Green is a blue egg with brown gene, yes?

Well, I suppose you can find a roo that has sisters that are laying green eggs and use that one

I guess the hard part is ID'ing the dad

I wouldn't expect it to be too hard!

Why not cross a blue egg laying breed onto a a brown egg laying breed? The cross should result with hens that lay green eggs. Or at least that is my understanding. The brown over the blue creates green.
