How to care for injured button quail

I had two button quail that were severely injured on the head. They cut their heads on a sharp wire. They were very sick. I kept them warm with a light and quiet. I made sure they were drinking. I mixed some baby bird food with water and most importantly I put neosporin on their cuts. I kept this up and both birds survived. The neosporin also prevents others from pecking them.
