How to change the color of your words on posts

I'm trying to figure out how to be able to change the word color when you post on a thread or write your signature. I see other people with colors and I just wonder how.

If you 'qoute' their post you will see it very quickly.

['color=red] this would be red text without the apostrophe [/color]

like this:
