I am new to the chicken parenting game. I have 8 eight week old pullets and was wondering how I would go about checking for mites.

Thanks

Pick them up and visually inspect them. Lice are usually lighter in color and they crawl faster than mites. Mites are very slow and look like pepper sprinkled in certain areas on the chicken...like in or around the vent area, base of tail feathers, under the wings. A magnifying glass really helps during a thorough inspection.
