How to clip my mallards hind toe?

The lady I bought him from didnt mark him, how do I go about clipping his toe? He's three weeks old tomorrow.

I am not sure but i THINK that's supposed to be done when they're teeny? I imagine it would hurt pretty bad now.

Why do want to clip his toe off?
The duckling is probably to old enough for it to come off easy.

Domesticated mallards are supposed to be marked? I dont know, im paranoid about some wildlife person taking him from me. Thats my baby. Haha.

Don't cut his toe off. Go to the feed store and buy a bag of poultry bands for marking birds. They come in many different sizes but you will have to change them as he/she grows. it's too small for a permanent band still.

If you go on any hatcherys website they should have the bands. Stromberg's have the widest variety I have seen so far.
