HI! I am new here! And I recently got interested in hatching chickens. I have a 10 gallon aquarium, and I am interested in changing it into an incubator. I have a 60 watt heat lamp, a spray bottle, towels, etc. I was wondering how to change it into an incubator.

the problem with using an aquarium is going to be ventilation
i would use a cooler, you can drill holes into them very easily

ETA - not that its impossible with an aquarium but not nearly as easy

Here is mine. Took two days of messing around with different settings, placements and tools. I finally got it right. The jars are filled with warm water to help keep and radiate heat and you can cover them or uncover them depending on how much humidity you want. The top has a screen cover covered with aluminium foil and the two lamps on top have 60W ceiling fan bulbs each. You cut a whole on the aluminium foil where the lights are. Start small and keep making the wholes bigger until you reach the temperature you need. I also use towels on top and around to help keep the heat in. I also had a seedling heat mat sitting around that fits perfectly under the aquarium. The plastic Tupperware has tall walls to make sure my quail chicks don't wander into trouble and it's lined with a piece of felt like material I had leftover from my reptile aquarium. Depending on where you live, and what you're hatching, you'll have to play with the settings.
