How to deworming ducks with chickens

Just curious (was told to deworm 2x a year as a preventive) but I have ducks living with chickens and they have a pool. Also read shouldn't take the pool away so how would that work? The stuff I have is the kind you add to water.

They are still young 10 weeks old but with fall coming I wasn't sure the best thing to do.

What do you have that goes in water? Photo of the product?

Most deworm each bird orally by weight, so sharing a water source should be a non-issue.

Getting a fecal float can be a good source of information that will tell you if your flocks need deworming or not.

Otherwise, depending on where you are located, you may need to deworm a few times a year.


To treat most worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworm you can use Safeguard (Fenbendazole) or Valbazen (Albendazole). Both are given orally by weight; they do not mix well with water.

Safeguard 10% Liquid Goat Dewormer or 10% Equine Paste dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.
---OR---
Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.
