iv tried different feeders the reel feeders, the red one with the holes, and momma hen keeps on dragging it around till the feed is on the floor . what to try next.

I hate to break it to you, but I just hatched 13 WITHOUT a hen and they dumped it out themselves. They scrath it out and pull it out and eat.....well.....like babies!! Crazy chickens. I hafta sweep my coop floor almost daily. chickens spill food. I am considering training mine to use spoons, but I hafta figure out that whole "no thumbs" issue first. Perhaps duct tape.
you can make a frame out of 1x4 inche boards or you can use 2x4 welded wire. cut a piece about 3 ft. long and bend it and put over feeder. that way chicks can go in to get feed and the hen can not get to the food to turn over
