How to feed Courtnix Quail?

How much feed should a quail need per bird? We have about 50 or so and it seems like we are going through it way too fast. Nearly every time we go in the coop (usually 5-8 times a day) the feeder is empty (a 2in or so pvc pipe cut just under 1/2, about a foot and a half long)

My hubby grew up taking care of hundreds of Quail and he remembers feeding them only once a day and that per bird they were getting less.

Does anyone know the amount needed? Our coop is kept at 60 degrees all the time.

That'd odd...I have something like 30 coturnix outdoors, I feed them once a day, one horse scoop of feed.

Is there anywhere they could be wasting the feed and flinging it? I feed my birds in their indoor shelter part that way it doesnt get lost what they dont eat just lays there until they are ready to eat again. I was feeding them outside of there, but they just spilt it and it would fall out into their wire flooring to the dirt where they ofcourse couldnt get to it.

If they are litterally eating that much that sucks! Are they all jumbos? My A & Ms are always hungry, piggy piggies. They cry for food louder than the others do.

If anything, they runout of water before their food. Sorry i dont know the specific amt. each coturnix should get. I just give htem a big scoop and that's worked since october.
