How to feed?

Hi there I have 5 silkies cross bantams and 5 ex batt hens just wandering if I should be feeding morning and night or if they are ok with a feeder in there run? At the moment I have a large feeder one end of the run and a small one the other end thanks in advance

It's best to keep feeders full; they are not like dogs, eating a meal or two a day. They eat & peck at food all day long. Best of luck, and bless you for adopting some ex battery hens!

Chickens are voracious eaters and without nutritious feed available, they'll eat bedding, siding or whatever is in front of them. When their crop is empty, they're hungry.
