I have called a few vets and no one so far takes care of chickens. I called around a while back when I lost one chicken to a predator and another one was injured and I wasn't sure what to do. (doctored her myself from the advice from BYC!)
I live in Roanoke, VA and don't need a chicken vet now but am always worried that if something happens with one of my girls I want to have a number to call or somewhere to go to. Anyone in this area know of someone who takes care of sick/injured chickens? Thanks

Somewhere on here, probably in a sticky, there is a list of vets that take chickens by state.

You can try and search for it...

Thank you kuntrygirl. I think my kids have officially removed all my brain juices for the day.

I mean really! Why didn't I just paste the stupid link? [laree goes to bed]

Google Roanoke Va exotic vet

There are several avian vets listed.

Imp- it's good that you are checking before it is an emergency.

Thanks everyone!!! Hopefully I will never have to use a vet for my chickens but I always want to be prepared!!
