I currently have 1 blue Langshan hen who is laying about every other day, I also have 1 black Australorp and 1 buff orpington pullets that are about 26 wks. old that aren't laying yet. I have them on layer pellets, which I mix in oyster shells, and this omega 3 fatty acid stuff. I would like to know how to make them lay more, and sooner.

there isn't a way to make them lay sooner really without using roids/hormones but there are ways to make them lay later. keep them on their regular diet and do not change it. don't move coops or anything. this can cause stress. when i moved my chickens to my new house they stopped laying for a week. just make sure they are happy, safe, and healthy and you're good to go!

You can't.

Layer feed, mixed with calcium (shells) is a bit of a calcium overload. They honestly do not need that much calcium since they are not yet expelling an egg shell everyday.

Layer feed doesn't make them lay. It is merely a balanced diet for a laying hen. Your's aren't laying yet. These pullets will lay the day their bodies are ready to do and not a minute earlier. Reminds me an episode of the Cosby show, years ago, when Rudy was all upset that she hadn't gotten her breasts yet. These things happen when Nature says, and not a day earlier.
