Hi All. I have a BO that is one year old. She has gone broody for the second time this year. Does this behavior continue all year or will she eventually give up? I don't have any fertilized eggs. The other part to my question is if in the future I do let her hatch some eggs, do I have to separate her from the others? Thanks for any input.

I would find some fertilized eggs and take advantage of your lucky situation! My BO sat on 7 eggs in March....7 beautiful farm mutts were hatched! I did have to keep her in a cardboard box inorder for the other hens to stop laying more eggs in her nest and disturbing her. This made more work for me because I had to let her out of the box 2x a day to poop and drink but I didnt care. I left her in the coop the whole time and that worked great as I had no problems with reintroductions. Just cordend off an area for Mom and Chicks until they got bigger. Now Mom is on the rooast and the chick area is nothing more than a creep feeder and nap place. Last night the babies were on the roost like the big girls and boy!
