How to hatch eggs in an older sportsman cabinet incubator..?... photos included.. :)

Ok, so i bought an older sportsman cabinet incubator.... It didn't come with a manual... but i was looking online, do you think i should follow this manual, http://www.berryhill.ca/v/vspfiles/assets/images/1502cabinetmodelinstructions.pdf.....? also it doesn't have a backup wafer thermostat in it.... how can i put one in it... i have another genesis incubator, with a wafer in it, can i take it out of that incubator and put it on the cabinet incubator...? and also do i need eggs trays for the turner, or can i put them right onto the wire rack?
