how to hold a duckling?

How do you hold a duckling?

I held my ducklings by making a little cage out of my hands. One hand was underneath with their legs between two of my fingers, the other hand held just above their back, fingers curved and pointed toward the head. Like an open clamshell. They can wiggle and hop very quickly. I have smallish hands - someone else may be able to hold a young duckling in one hand.
