how to introduce arooster to my flock

I am getting a rooster from a friend. What is the best way to bring him into the flock and do I need to quarantine him, and how do I do that?

Your supposed to quarentine him for a month. My girls took to my new roo just fine. He immediately made the head female his 'girlfriend' and then the rest kind of still followed her, and she followed him! there was a little bit of fluffing of feathers, but by day 3 of 4 he was mounting them all and they were HIS ladies!

ETA: keep him in a separate pen with shelter/feed/water away from your flock. monitor for any heath problems that might be underlying.

I do have a pen I can put him in, inside the fence of the chicken lot, but where do I put him at night?

I'd say give him a sheltered dog crate, or make a small wooden A-frame for him to sleep in. something covered to protect him from the elements.
