How to keep chickens from flying over the fence

Thank you for all your ideas, I am keeping them in the hen house area today. We will have too cover more area for them , but not the half acre that's too much. Thanks again.

Build them a run. With a roof.
I've heard some clip wings to discourage flying. I have no experience with this so will leave it to other more knowledgable folks.

i let my chickens out for the first time to day no clipped wings they did not go to far from the run soon as i got out the treats they came running
