how do i keep dogs out? i se them snooping around the pen.

A strand of hot wire is a very effective way to keep dogs at bay.

Especially in the morning when the ground is damp. And put pieces of hot dogs on the wire so that when the dogs bite one they get shocked. This teaches them quickly to respect a fence.

A "hot wire" is an electirc fence wire.

I guess I am lucky.. I have 3 full blooded boxers and one coon dog. I have no problems with any of them except little trixie she is 6 months. She walks in the coop all the time but never harms my chickens! Yes, she does get scolded when we catch her, but since she does no harm I can't really do alot. She is just currious. She walks amongest them all, everyday, all day. I have tuns of pictures. My others guard my chicken coop. I had one of my boxers "Lady" who is about 70 in dog years and we have trained her recently not to eat or attack but to protect (we had one incident but none since, and thankfully my roo was okay... just got some tail feathers missing). LOL it's funny too... cause my chickens will go up to all my dogs and eat the tics off them!!!

Hot wire mean electric fence I believe that is what the other person is refering too... and yes, IT DOES WORK!!!
