How to make chicken growth rate speed up

For my science project for school I'm going to see what make chicken grow faster (We have to do a global issue). I wanted to know if they were any myths or special food combinations that will excel growth rate. The chicks come on tuesday, I'm planning on feeding natural food to two food pellets for the other two. Thanks a lot and

Protein (complete complement of amino acids) will help early growth. Protein is expensive though.
A balanced diet of energy, carbs, proteins, vitamins, macro and trace minerals is imperative.
Supplementing a balanced commercial ration can inhibit growth.
