how to pervet chicks from losin them

hi every one i hatced chicks last year and i only had one live and i was woundering how to pervent losing them this year

What is your setup like? (Coop/food/water/heat source)

How did they die last year? Any theories?

my setup was i had two small plasic contanier one for food one for water and i lamp the temp was alwasys 90 for 3 weeks and for the floor i hade cloth and i kept them in a cradborad box
