How to protect a duck wound on back?

I posted here yesterday about my ducks being wounded by rats/mice. The wounds are extensive and on their backs.

I have been treating them with Vetericyn and Neosporin. I've kept them in a dog crate on the lanai. The issue is, ducks are notoriously messy/dirty. This AM I woke up to a filthy crate and the wounds were wet. I think I will put them in a dry kiddie pool but still haven't solved the issue of cleanliness. Can I put a toddler t-shirt on them? I tried gauze but they immediately came off.

Your other thread is linked below. Great advice and suggestions for care on that thread.

I would not cover the wounds with anything unless the birds are picking at themselves.

Clean/spray the wounds clean as needed.
