I don't know much about threads, please tell me if this is in the wrong place. I want to build a coop inside my house garage, new home, don't want rodents. Anyone have any ideas how I can make a chicken door to the outside without rodents coming in? should I put it high and add bars of differing heights until they get to the door? Squirrels will still make it in through though.. any thoughts please.

So is this garage the kind with a large overhead door that allows your car inside?
Will that door be open from time to time. Mice will enter that way to.
I would not have my chickens where they come in contact with exhast from a car.
Plus, chickens a VERY dusty and will result on everything in your garage to be covered with dust.
How many chickens are we talking about here?

Chickens might eat the rodents... :idunno probably just mice though. Squirrels and rats are too big.

That's a tough problem. Get an electric dog door and little radio collars for your birds' ankles. I doubt that exists though.

Why are you building your coop in the garage? Will you have a run outside for them or are you planning on just letting them out to the yard through this door?
