How to stop cockerels fighting

I have just added 4 young hens who have just started laying.

Oh, that would explain it, and spring hormones too. I think you should consider separating them until autumn. Or if they only started fighting, maybe give them a couple more days to sort this out, if they injure one another separate immediately.

hi everyone, I have 2 roosters who will not stop fighting- i think they are pretty much equal ability so there never seems to be a winner! what should I do?

if they are confined, you may have to do what most responders have said. If they are free, you can leave them to sort it out, which in my experience they will do without causing or suffering serious injury, and will then get on just as the hens get on within their hierarchy and pecking order. Proof:

The roo on the right is the dominant by the way, and the one treading was 3rd / 4th in the roo order at the time this photo was taken (he has toggled places with the one in the middle; they're hatch-mates).
