I've got a real fly problem. Here in California, we had a few days of 90-105 degree weather. Now, the temperature is back down, but the flies are just, simply, awful! I know it's from the ducks, as we've never had anything like this before. It is really bad...

Please! Send suggestions for taking care of the fly problem in an environmentally friendly manner!

Not sure if it's safe with ducks (I think it is), but I've started adding Diatamacious Earth to my bird's feed to help control flies (give at 2% of the feed, ie 3 lbs DE for 150 lbs of chicken feed). It, supposedly, prevents fly larvae from hatching in eggs. Also, keep the manure dry and the flies will not be attracted to it. Fly traps help a little.
