Ok...first of all let me just say that after MONTHS and MONTHS of thinking...I finally was able to get three little goslings today - YAY.

I was wondering...since the goslings i got were "breeders choice"...the two possibilities were African or Toulouse. Is there any way to tell the difference between the two babies? I know they're only 'hatchery' quality and I'm ok with that. They're little sweetie pies and VERY friendly! (They make all kinds of a ruckus when they see me...and let me hold and snuggle them...).

I was just wondering if any of you very knowlegeable BYCers out there would have any insight. I've looked images up online...but the two seem so similar in coloring that it's kind of the Mallard VS. Rouen type of a situation: the experts would know better!

I appreciate any insight you all may have.

Thank you! That's what I thought when they were nibbling on my fingers! Definitely more outgoing than my ducklings! I even had them eating out of my hand before taking the photos...of course they were also nibbling on my fingers and my watch and anything else they could see.

They were from a hatchery (I got them from a mom and pop feed store)...I was thinking the dots indicated sex as well...however I was told since they ordered ducklings and goslings...they "color coded" which were which based on the color of their "spot." The Khaki cambles were red, the anconas were green, and the goslings were blue.

From all the descriptions of africans being "noisey"...I'm thinking that's what they are as well...since they're always chatting with me! One of them has a kind of a rounded "chin" too. It'd be nice to have at least ONE goose!
