How to tell if bantam or just baby

hey i ahev 2 chicks that my broody hatched the eggs were from my friend she has a bantam mongrel hen and a minorca rooster i dont noe if the eggs they hatched from were from the bantam or not so how do u tell if the are bantam

also the chicks are around 6 months old when should they start laying because they are very small

How large was the egg? Bantams lay smaller eggs than do large fowl. And what choices are there for the mother other than the mixed breed bantam?

As they mature, a banny will seem to stay tiny, while a LF or Semi-banny will seem to be making 'progress' and growing. By the time they're adolescent, it's obvious, but it's hard to tell sometimes in the stages prior.

the egg was normal size
its probly from a bantam black orp because the chick is 100% black with a beautiful sheen
i think it hatched from a white egg and its not growing much i think but its talking like a normal hen
