How to tell them apart?

Just wondering if any has any ideas for labeling the chicks. I want to keep tabs on who is doing what! Can I just put a band around the ankles or will they pick at it...

I use zip ties on their legs. Just keep an eye on them and change them before they get tight. My ties are different colors so this helps, also i put some on the left leg and on others on the right leg. works good for me. Good luck.

Good idea! Thanks for replying. One just flew out of the brooder this morning, so I would like to keep my eye on the rascal!

I use zip ties to separate my breeding hens from the others. I really like them.

great idea, I think my chickies need ankle bracelets too, when they were small I used marker (water based) to dot their heads so I could identify my greeters. Great idea again pretty sure DH or DS has some zip ties.

Would using different colored nail polish work, or would it make them peck at their toes? Maybe use a neutral color?
