How to train chickens to go into hut at night?

That really is the ticket.....keeping them in the coop and giving them treats each night. Mine went right with no problem...without treats.

They get treats 2 sometimes 3 times a day so they just love Mamma when they see me comin.

When I got my very first two pullets, I kept them in the coop for about 1 week. Once I started letting them out in the yard (only in the evenings when I was home, at first) they just automatically started going in the coop in the evenings. Now they free range all day and I just close the coop door after they go in to roost. It's like clockwork every evening by 7:45 or so they go inside. I've even added a couple new chickens and they follow the others in, even with working out pecking order it hasn't been an issue. I've never had to chase anyone at dark!
