How to train our dogs???

I just got my first flock settled happily into their new home and have been getting them out to socialize but, I have one major concern.... well, two major concerns.... I have two dogs- bird dogs. They are Springer Spaniels and although we have never hunted with them they seem far too interested in the new chickens. The alpha dog is a real problem- licking his lips and staring, just waiting for his opportunity.

So, who has had success training their dogs to coexist peacefully with chickens? What are your secrets?
