Hi all, after consulting with this forum I decided on Anatolian Shepherds. I bought 2, one female 3 month old AKC, and one male 4 month old CKC. They are both very responsive to corrections and seem good natured overall. After three days of sleeping in crates, they learned to not chew on enough things that I let them sleep freely in the barn and they did fine. Now, I have another companion dog, a 3 year old shepherd-dingo rescue. He was always good about protecting the chickens and even alerts me if one gets out of the run, but two weeks ago he seriously injured one of the Cackle Hatchery Barred Rock hens. She always flirts with him and he likes to chew on her neck, and this time he made a deep gash down to her spine. It seems like the new puppies watch my older dog and learned that it was fun to chase the chickens and chew on their tail feathers. Again two Cackle Barred Rocks. What techniques can be used to nip this in the bud?
