How will I know when they've hatched

Hi I'm new to te forum and hope I've posted in the right place. I have 6 eggs under my broody hen due to hatch today. I think one has hatched as when I checked on her there was half a a shell next to her and I'm sure last night I could hear scratching and today chirping. How will I know when they have all hatched? Will she turf all of the shell from underneath her and will I harm them by opening the lid of the nest box to check? I was going to check again tonight when I shut them all up for the night. Am really nervous as its my first time hatching any eggs and want them to hatch so badly, especially after roxy has been such a good and dedicated broody. Any advice would be fab.

Don't know if this will help........
If you are shy about picking her up to check, she will come off the nest with the chicks in a few days on her own.....................
