How will I tell them apart after hatching?

I have 38 eggs in the bator. 16BCM, 5 ameraucana, some EE's, barred rocks,

I'm afraid after they hatch I won't be able to tell the difference between the ameraucana and the EE.
Any suggestions would be great. I think since I've hatched BCM's I'll know them.

At lockdown, put the eggs in little baskets--like desk organizers. Then when you put them in the brooder, use leg bands or some such.

Thanks for the suggestions.
That basket looks like it might work. Did you take the bottom out of it?
I guess I'll have to get some leg bands too.

No, I just put a papertowl in it to keep them from slipping. It actually worked really well. The pic I posted was from a cry for help. The egg pictured was bleeding out, and the basket kept it from contaminating all the other eggs.

I named mine as they hatched, figgered I could just call them when I needed them.......Didn't work

I have teeny little rubber-band type leg bands that I use for my ducklings. They only work for the first week or two before they have to be removed, and then I use plastic spiral bands.

Or, you could do what a lot of dog/cat breeders do and put a little dots of different colored nail-polish/marker on their heads. I personally wouldn't do that, because I don't think it's healthy, but it's an idea.

small 4 inch zip ties are all you need. One breed on 1 leg, one on the other, or they come in assorted colors too.
Just watch them as they grow, dont want to let them get tight.
