How will wildfire smoke affect my chickens?

Here in the PNW we people are being asked to stay indoors due to very unhealthy to hazardous air quality. Should I close up my ladies in the coop? I understand chickens have sensitive respiratory systems and I’m worried

I'm also in the PNW, I put my birds in the basement. I definitely think that you should at least lock your chickens in the coop with a fan near by but I'd suggest getting them indoors if possible. But definitely make sure that you change out their water regularly and keep it fresh, smoke creates a film on the water and then they'll just straight drink the smoke

Awesome ideas thank you. Into the coop they go for tonite, but if the smokiness worsens i’m pulling out the camping gear and setting up the enclosed canopy in the garage so the ladies can have a sleepover for a few days until the offshore winds return
