Renovating this coop inside a barn. See how much of a gap is there once the door is shut? How would you guys modify this? Don't want any predators getting in!

If building a new door isn't an option, I would attach 1x6s or 1x8s (if wider is needed) with u-bolts to the top and side of the wall frame where they would overlap the gap and the door just enough to serve as a stop. If the door swings inward, bolt the boards on the outside of the pen, if outward, both them on the inside. You would need U-bolts just wide enough to fit around the pipe and long enough to go through the boards in order to bolt them on. Make sense?

I would rebuild the door so that it overlaps the frame from the outside. The door should swing out to keep the birds from blocking it when you try to open it. It appears to be PVC, so it won't be much trouble to enlarge.

Nevertheless, it appears that chicken wire is used on the door and sides. If that is as it appears, it won't matter about the gap. The predators will rip straight through the chicken wire.
