How would you set a live trap that won't catch the hens?

How would you set a live trap that won't catch the hens? I have a beheaded hen and the rest have scattered. It's dark out and the only thing I can think to do is to set my Havaharts with something tasty that the hens won't go for. Tuna?

Well, the best way to catch a pred is to guess what it is and bait with something they will like. I just set my hav a hearts after the chickens gone to roost in known walking paths. Coons are worst here so I bait with marshmellows.

Great. Thanks. I know we have raccoons. It was a weird killing. All of the other hens were unharmed but this thing beheaded one in the middle of the enclosure then dropped the head in the coop.
