I don't have chickens yet, but my city just changed its regs to allow up to 7 hens in the backyard. I bought a chicken book, talked to a relative that has chickens, pored over a few poultry mags, and a couple chicken catalogs. Now I *think* I've decided on the breeds I want, so next up is researching coop designs.
