Hi. I'm new at raising chickens and new to BYC.
I came across the site after searching for information about "cross beak". One of my hens started to develop a crooked beak at about 14 weeks. It seems out of the ordinary to develop this late in the game given the forum information I've read thus far. At any rate, she is flourishing, but can not peck with the precision that she once had. Her upper beak is long and I suppose I'll need to figure out how to trim it down soon.
Things are getting exciting around the homestead. My son is thrilled that our White Leghorns have laid their first eggs (19 weeks).
I'm thrilled to have found BYC and will spread the word!
The Girls:
2 White Leghorn
3 Russian Orloff
3 Black Australorp
2 White Frizzle Cochin
2 Golden Laced Wyandotte
