Hi everyone,
Had alot of questions since we have had chickens and alot of exciting news to share but no one "chicken-savvy" to talk to so i though it was time to join a forum!!

My name is Lu,

1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We got 25, 3 day old, Sasso hybrid chicks last december which we try to take care of for the land lady. They have been our first chicken experience. We are currently in a bit of a battle as we want to move them where they have more things to do and more exercise. We have 9 now, many lost as roosters and a few to what we have assumed were heart attacks. (Hence why we want to move them to a nicer environment.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

30 chooks, 5 ducks
The land-ladies 9 sasso chickens.
Trio of cuckoo marans.
4 cuckoo maran chicks (hatched a little while ago from a bator)
1 copper/black maran chick ("")
Trio of copper/black marans.
3 light sussex pullets (something of a sore spot, only got them 2 weeks ago and already lost two:(, possibly worms? will ask in the appropriate forum!!)
Pair of large white silkies
Pair of bantam silkies (black cockrel, white hen)
1 lemon cuckoo pekin
1 millefleur pekin hen
1 black mottled pekin hen.

5 indian runner ducks (sex/colour unknown at the moment!!)

(3) What breeds do you have?

lol see above

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

google searches over the year

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

The countryside really, being outdoors and building things for the chickens

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share

Im a student at university, staying with my parents, we have 3 cats, 1 dog, a budgie and some rodents

plus the poultry!!
We do love our chickens and they are spoilt really, including silkie grooming time every day!!

Hey! This really is a great forum for all the chicken lovers! I'm also new here.
I've had my chickens nearly a year now. They're bantams. I've got 5 bantam hens and 2 roosters. They're a very small, colorful breed! My friend told me about this forum. And basically I like reading, writing, hanging with friends and my 3 basset hounds, and such. I'm getting 2 guinea pigs soon. Welcome!
