Hello from the Pacific Northwest. My husband and I live on 10 acres of property outside Spokane WA. We (I) decided we'd like to get a few chickens for eggs. So far we've spent more money on what my husband calls Chicktopia than we'd ever recoup in the form of eggs fixing up their new home.
But, I think they will be very happy chickens in their large, insulated coop and nice predator-proof yard. And, I'm having a great time with our new family members.
We picked up 6 babies from our local farm store and ended up with 5 hens and 1 rooster. We didn't really want Baby Huey, but living outside city limits there are no restrictions to having a rooster so he will be a permanent part of the flock.
Happy to be a part of this community. I look forward to getting to know you all.
