Been lurking for a while and have gotten a lot of good ideas from you all for the coop and run I just built.

So..first af all - THANKS for all the free advice I've gotten.

I grew up with chickens and have always searched out sources for fresh eggs wherever I've lived, but got tired of having to go with out when their chickens weren't "putting out as much as they used to". So I talked my family into letting me get some chicks.

I'd forgotten how fun these chicks are. They're now 8 weeks old and sure seem happy and content. Just gotta figure out if they're all pullets or not:idunno. As soon as I'm able I'll post pictures, until then I'll just wing it.

My flock consists of 1 SLWynotte, 4 BuffOrpingtons, 4 Barred Rock, and 5 Amauracanas, suppossedly all pullets forn our local Basin CO-OP.

from California!

You have a nice mix of breeds for a first flock. I approve.

So glad you registered and joined us, and that you found BYC to full of all that free advice! What I like about BYC is that I can find out how to do things correctly, and how to fix mistakes I made before I researched how to do things correctly. But it's the people on BYC that are THE BEST!

Thanks, It's driving me crazy waiting for eggs. Do I Really have to wait until thet're 6 months old +/-?
