Hubby had his laugh for the night...

hehehehehe been there and done that. My husband does not even bother to say anything anymore.

I hear a noise, a scuffle, a yip, yowl, scratch and I am out the door headed to Eggtopia.

We completely understand.

I like your style... my neighbor's dogs used to gang up on my blind and deaf Appaloosa until I headed out into our pasture with the shotgun. I just fired off a couple of shots into the nearby hill to scare the owner! It worked like a charm

To scare the owner...Not the dogs...Love that...

Yesterday our dogs were out doing there patrolling of the property and on there way back to the house I heard what I think was a wolf howling. Mind you this was about 9:30 A.M. So not really sure if it was a wolf or not...But it sure scared the ba-gee-biz outta me.. I was constantly outside checking on EVERYTHING during the day from that point on yesterday. And then today I have a goose with a bloody wing. Could it have been something tried to get it, or it getting caught on something I don't know, but again today now I am outside checking on everyone and doing extra checks on that goose. We do have wolves, bears, cyotes, fox, fishers, minks, wessels, dogs, everything here. You name it, it probably lives within spitting distance of our place....Country life...I love it, but sometimes it works on my nerves...and they already are stressed enough.....
Oh yeah, almost forgot about our most dangerous things here...The mole trails.....I think they have an underground city living on our property. One day I was cleaning rabbit hutches, set one down on the ground, got some hay and came back and there were about 10 different trails going all around the hutch I just set down minutes before....One of our dogs will actually watch the trails and the minute she sees it move she on the the chase for the mole....Then not only do you have to watch for the mole trails, you also need to watch your step for fear of breaking your leg in the hole she dug to get the mole.....9 outta 10 times she gets them too....

Our Sheltie can't stand moles...She will hunt them and kill them. Hubby don't like her holes though because she'll dig deep to catch one. She pulled one out where we used to live that was about 8-10 inches long...I ended up dropping a big rock on it and throwing it away. My parents borrow her for a couple weeks every year and let her kill the moles.

ahh, this brings back memories of my childhood and my dad running out the door at 10pm in his underware and boots with shotgun when he heard someone in the tractor in the yard.
