Well shoot, i was walking to the backyard with several bags of romaine lettuce in my hand. Baby Huey, our massive Sebastopol gander, didn't want to wait and just grabbed onto one of the bags, pulling out some lettuce. Before i could stop him, he swallowed the lettuce and a piece of the plastic bag. It was one of those vegetable bags from the grocery store, thin plastic, not a very big piece. i'm hoping this isn't going to be a problem. Hoping it was small enough and thin enough to pass through okay. But, has anyone else experienced this? i had a chicken eat a bandaid off my leg one time and she was okay.

I'm NOT a vet but I believe your goose will be fine. Sounds like the piece was too small to get tangled up. I believe the plastic will pass through. Again, just my opinion but I would just keep and eye on Huey to make sure he is "fertilizing" as normal. If he stops producing normal fertilizer

then I would worry and probably try and take him to a vet.

Thanks! Yeh, he seems fine today. It was a small and thin piece, and it was wrapped up in lettuce. i guess i just need to be careful when i walk out there with the lettuce. Maybe take it in a bucket or something. i'm still wondering where that bandaid went that my chicken swallowed 5 years ago.
