I don't know how to thank this website and all those who participate. I am addicted to my chickens... and so grateful for all the knowledge and information available.
I now spend my evenings watching TV and having my favorit chicken, Wilamena, on my lap. If my computer is on my lap, then she is on my knee or hip trying to type along with me. (Yes I have pictures...).
Another thing I can't thank you all enough for is the advice I have read in other posts. Just Tuesday I received 5 baby silkies... and Wednesday noticed that the smallest, my little blue named Thelma, was very weak and unstable. She got pushed out of the way by the other 4 and all she wanted to do was sleep.
I gave her some plain yogurt, the Polyvisol Infant Vitamins, and boiled egg yolk. I have Gatorade just in case, but she hasn't seemed to need it. I have watched her eating and drinking pick up and she is a lot more active. My hubby had them all out on the dinning room table taking pictures of them in an egg carton and she was running all over the place.
I would have had NO idea what to do if not for this site. I wouldn't even had known where to begin.
Now this last picture shows exactly where they are right now... sound asleep on my hubby's chest. And he says he don't want no more chickens! Hah... I started with 3, just got 5 more... who knows what's next?
Thanks again.
Diana
