Hmmm, interesting...our dog, who is spayed, took an interest in a stuffed toy for the longest time...same thing, licked and guarded it, slept with it...

That's a good idea about the eggs. Maybe we'll try some other ones, and see what she does. With seven roos around, you'd think we'd have a lot of fertile eggs, but our hens haven't seemed to have much luck with hatching any this year.

If the egg idea doesn't work, I'm guessing this broodiness thing will go away anyway when it gets colder? Just sad to see her wasting this whole summer :aww

Def not eggbound,I dealt with that acouple back.There butt will be large and messy and look like there popin a squat!

If she's been sitting for more than a month, you could easily pop under her two chicks at night and she'll wake up like a new mom! Won't notice a thing.
