We ate some last night and it IS delicious. Raw it tasted like fresh corn, because is is a kernel blown up with the fungus, and sautéed in butter it tastes like a delightful mushroom. Highly recommended!
Anyone eat "corn smut"? I knew it was a delicacy in Mexico, which makes me really want to try it since we get a healthy infection in our corn fields and garden each year... but I cant find anything on google for cooking it. I am always up for new funky things, as long as it isnt a funky animal part... anyone familiar with this food?
