Hi everyone! I'm new to posting on here. I have a Peeking male & female of about 15 weeks. We hand raised them in our house, then moved them to the garage while their coop is being built. They have all space they could want inside and outside they free roam the property (6 acres) they have 3 pools and a large 1 acre pond ( which they don't use) since my drake started mating the female at least 4 weeks ago now he's turned on us. He seems to think that everywhere is his territory. He will regularly chase us. He chases and bites our 3 large dogs, even climbing our front steps entering the front entrance and attacking the dogs! I can hardly open their pen in the morning as he bites at every opportunity. I guess my question is, will it get better later in the season or is this behaviour permanent? Is there anything I can do? We treat them so well, and I love them dearly but I fear that he will attack my 16 month old or worse the dogs will get serious and really show him who's boss! We also have a male & female geese whom are happy for now to hang out and take their cues from the ducks as they are 4 weeks younger, but again the drake is so mean to them. Any advice will be appreciated.

He should die down over time - sounds like he's pretty fearless right now, what with his macho hormones kicking in and canceling the ol' fear of dog. His being so aggressive might stem from being raised by humans. He doesn't respect you guys or natural predators, because he's had no reason to.

If the dogs turn on him (hopefully only a warning snap or two), I'm sure he'll learn not to antagonize them. But you don't want that to happen, of course.

I replied to a similar post a few days ago. Give me a minute and I'll paste what I said here.

Thank you for the advice, I will put it in effect and hopefully correct the situation.
P.S he has been given numerous warnings from the dogs but insists on chasing them!

That's too bad . . . I hope his hormones calm down soon! That's the reason we haven't gotten any dogs. My Muscovies are amazingly talented at their favorite sport of dog-baiting. Not my favorite thing to watch.
