Humane way of killing?

I know this is awful but can you kill a chicken whithout hurting it terriably? With fish you put them in a cup with water and pop them in the freezer the go to sleep and freeze so it doesn't hurt. I KNOW YOU CAN'T FREEZE CHICKENS! But I would not want to cut off their head!

Cutting off the head is the quickest (and therefore most painless) way, or so I've heard.

Putting a fish in the freezer freezes them...which isn't a fast painless death.

The most humane way would be cut off its head or put a bullet in its head. There really isn't a nice way of killing a chicken. At least that I know of.

I know I'd rather be beheaded than frozen.

A native american friend, who had worked for a poultry hatchery, once told me she knew how to kill a chicken painlessly while it rested in her arms. She never showed me and I have lost track of her.
