One of my 5 week old chicks has an extreme case of scissor beak and she is not thriving like her flock mates. She has a difficult time eating and drinking and isn't feathering out at the same rate. What are some humane ways to cull her besides the obvious of taking her to a vet?

Have you tried using a deep bowl, and adding water to the feed to make an oatmeal consisitency? As far as culling, quicker is better. Cutting the neck to get the carotid artery and jugular with a sharp knife or scissors is quick. Using equal parts of baking soda and vinegar in a closed container with kill a chick quickly. Some us starter fluid which is mostly ether in a closed container. I would try first to see if she can eat normally.
