It’s day 2 of incubating quail eggs right now and I can’t get the humidity to stay around 45-50%! If I pour even a little bit of water in it shoot’s up to 60-70%, and if I put none in it lies around 30-35%. Also, I have two different calibrated thermometers/hygrometers that I am getting these readings from. Does anyone have any ideas or ever dealt with this while incubating? Or if I can’t find a solution, which humidity range would be better for the eggs up until lockdown?

What type of Quail are you hatching? I hatch coturnix and they do best at the lower humidity of 30 to 40% and about 50% for lockdown works best for me.
