so the past few days i have the bator set at 70 humidity and i try to keep it between 65-70% humidity.
Today i hear peeping... (Happy dance).

But STILL no pipping going on 12 hours... I read it could take up to 24hrs before pipping starts after peeping?

Do i have the humidity set right because i researched on the net and everyone is saying different things.
Some say 45-50% last few days, some say 65-70% last few days, others say 75-80-85% humidity.

This doesn't help.

I chose 65-70% because thats the most i saw people use. But now that all i've been hearing is chirping and no pippin all day... i'm wondering if my humidity may be off and due to this the chick is stuck in the egg.

I'm a worry wort. Mother hen, and slowly loosing my mind.

Thats the whole problem. I don't know the days...

I had a broody hen who each day had new eggs. I later found out that another hen was laying in the box. So i took away the extras, and left the candled (fuller ones) with her. Forward to present day she had one hatch about 5 days ago. I decided to take the 6 away and put them in the bator because i didn't have the heart to pull the baby.

So since i put them in the bator i have used 65-70% and it has been about 4 days. I doubt all of them are living but two i felt move and today i heard one chirping.

It has really been disastrous and an expierence i've learned from.

Our temp. is 101.5 (a still air) and it never goes below 100 degrees.

Were just keeping our fingers crossed to salvage something and maybe give the little singleton a baby brother or sister.

Do you think my humidity is alright?
Also, this morning one egg had blood under it, by the time i noticed it was dry, no crack or pip that i could see. I read that it could be because the baby hit a vien trying to pip?

Thanks for all your help

any ideas? I just looked at the egg through the window. There is a small tiny hole and it's bubbling out of there, like liquid but light red... I just don't know what is causing it to do this? hatching maybe? or drowning? ...
